IT'S THE FINAL'S COUNTDOWN

Well this is it! It is my final blog post for the project as well as the last day before Thanksgiving Break and only a few short weeks away from final's week!

It's the Final's Countdown

tv good arrested development final countdown

We are just 21 days away from Final's week and the stress is really beginning to weigh us all down. As the workload and the unhappiness fill all student's schedules it is important to remember some ways to manage this stress.

1) Exercise

  • Exercise is a great stress reliever. It gets the blood flowing and the brain working, as well as getting you active and, in turn, healthier.

2) PUPPIES

  • Okay, okay. It doesn't have to be puppies specifically but pets are another great way to relieve stress.
  • Playing with animals cause your brain to release neurotransmitters, more specifically, dopamine.
    • Dopamine is the neurotransmitter responsible for happiness and a joyful feeling

3) Chocolate

  • Chocolate is another thing that causes your brain to release dopamine, making you happier and less stressed
  • Other health benefits include:
    • Lowers the risk of cardiovascular disease
    • Protects your skin against the sun
    • Improves brain function
      • VITAL for final's week

4) Sleep

  • Sleep is another "Major Key" as Disc Jockey Khaled would say.
  • Sleep is like a reset button for your brain and your body
    • It gives your brain the rest that it can not get when you are awake, rest that allows it to work at an optimal level.

  1. You know, this post is pretty awesome! A quick 4 tips for finals week that actually work is everything a college student praises. As easy and fun you make it sound, I have a feeling it won't feel that way.
I love the health benefits of chocolate stated. I actually didn't know chocolate lowered the risk of cardiovascular disease. Great post!

  2. I agree that puppies are a great way to relieve stress! My dog at home is a certified therapy dog. I use her personally to relieve stress, but it is very rewarding to see her relieve the stress of other students and people in general. Dogs have no idea that they help people out so much. Good stress post!
